These
one-of-a-kind scarves are made from vintage Japanese kimono, silk or silk
blend fabrics. Each fabric is carefully chosen to complement the whole
design. The width of the scarves is determined by the kimono fabrics,
traditionally woven fourteen inches wide, creating a scarf width of about 6
inches. Some of the fabrics have been cut directly from rolls of kimono
fabrics; other fabrics are from kimonos that have been taken apart. The
generous length (72 to 76 inches) provides many wearing options. Beads are
added to the scarf ends to provide a decorative touch, also adding some
weight so the scarf drapes nicely. |
